What is Alcali ?
- In textile dyeing (the most reactive dyeing), the most accurate pH in the dyeing bath is around 10.8. In order to reach this value, soda, caustic or soda/caustic combinations are generally used. However, they have the disadvantage of increasing the pH rapidly and causing abrage formation.
- For this reason, liquid / dosable alkalis with special buffering agents and correct alkali combinations in their chemistry have been designed recently. With these liquid alkalis, it is possible to calculate the pH from 6 to 10.8 with a much more linear/linear graph, thus preventing the problems of abrasion / paint chipping.
- In order to determine the correct usage amount of liquid alkali, it is necessary to measure the amount of bicarbonate coming from the water first.
