What is Sequestaring Agent ?

  • It is used to remove metal ions such as hardening Calcium (Ca) and Magnesium (Mg) that may come from the cotton fiber itself and/or the salt used in the finishing process. If these substances are not removed, they may cause silicate / white residue problems at the end of the dyeing process.
  • With the demineralization process, heavy metal ions such as Iron (Fe) that pass into the cotton as solid particles during cotton harvesting and processing are removed, preventing possible puncture / hole risks that may occur in the fabric.
  • Depending on the place of use, they can be acrylate, phosphonate, acrylate/phosphonate or polymer based.
  • Complexing and dispersing properties are very good.
  • They are designed to have an ion holding capacity between 0 - 1300 ppm, depending on the type of ions present in cotton.
  • They can remove 1-10° dH German Hardness. (In an ideal operating water, this ratio should be max 5° dH)
